Make It Easy For Cancer Sufferers, New Episode Of Extraordinary Attorney Woo Reaps Criticism

JAKARTA - Extraordinary Attorney Woo is one of the most talked about drama titles in recent weeks. The interesting story makes this drama a success in South Korea and internationally.

On the other hand, this drama received some criticism from the public. One of them is a new episode that aired on Thursday, August 11 yesterday.

This latest episode tells of lawyer Jung Myeong Seok (Kang Ki Young) who was diagnosed with stage 3 stomach cancer. Then Woo Young Woo (Park Eun Bin) visited Jung Myeong Seok at the hospital.

Jung Myeong Seok asked Young Woo not to worry but it was Woo Young Woo's dialogue that became the source of the criticism.

"Stage 3 stomach cancer has a 30-40% chance of survival," said Woo Young Woo.

The short dialogue made the audience write down their disappointment. Not even a few think this episode was written by a different person.

Because they think that Extraordinary Attorney Woo's dialogue seems to make it easy for cancer sufferers. Criticism began to arrive from netizens who wrote on community sites.

"Patients at the cancer center really enjoyed this drama, but I was angry when I saw this episode like stabbing them in the back," wrote a netizen, launching Wikitree today, Friday, August 12.

"Those who try to defend this scene by telling the reality of an autistic person, should understand that cancer patients live with this fact and don't need a 30% chance of survival warning," said another.

"He shouldn't have to repeat the dialogue he will die. I hope you guys go through something like this to know how it feels," wrote one netizen.

ENA as a television station has not responded to netizen criticism regarding this episode. It is known that this episode received a rating of 14.6% and led the drama airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
