Later, super-fast public charging stations and electric delivery (EV) fleets will be delivered to more than 25 IKEA retail locations across the US.
This collaboration allows IKEA USA to double the total number of EV chargers, supporting the goal of achieving zero-emission home delivery by 2025 and halving the relative emissions from customer and co-worker travel by 2030.
In total, there will be more than 200 ultra-fast chargers offering the fastest charging speeds of 150kW to 350kW.
Stations will be found at IKEA retail locations in 18 states including Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington.
IKEA also said that the first location of the charging station is expected to open by the end of 2022 and be completed by the end of 2023.
Giovanni Palazzo, president and CEO of Electrify America said he was very enthusiastic about this project. Because he admits that Electrify also has the same goals as IKEA.
