Distribute 1.3 Million Liters Of Petroleum To Eastern Indonesia, Trade Minister: Efforts To Maintain Supply Availability And Price Stability

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade distributes packaged cooking oil for the people under the "Minyakita" brand for the first phase to eastern Indonesia. This distribution aims to meet the needs in the region.

Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said based on data in the price monitoring system, the distribution of cooking oil in eastern Indonesia is still low, especially Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, West Papua and Nusa Tenggara.

Therefore, said Zulkifli, the government carried out the first stage of distribution to the eastern part of Indonesia, reaching 1,200 tons or the equivalent of 1.3 million liters.

The distribution of cooking oil, continued Zulkifli, is carried out through the Maritime Outlet Program which is in synergy with the Public Service Obligation Program for Sea Freight Transport (Sea Toll Road) to the 3TP Region.

"Olilita's distribution to the region is an effort to maintain the availability of supply and stability of cooking oil prices throughout Indonesia," he said at Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, Thursday, August 11.

In this initial distribution, 40 containers or 700 tons of Oilita were dispatched in Tanjung Priok, with the destination of Kupang as many as 21 containers or 351.5 tons; Timika 6 containers or 100.5 tons; and Merauke as many as 13 containers or 217.7 tons; including previously shipped by PT Bina Karya Prima (BKP), people's packaged cooking oil of the Oilita brand to West Papua as much as 271 tons (301,000 liters), and to Papua 245 tons (272,000 liters).

"Furthermore, it is planned for distribution departing from Tanjung Perak Port to Ambon, Ternate, Sorong, Manokwari, and Jayapura," he said.

Zulkifli said, the acceleration of the distribution of Oilita to eastern Indonesia was carried out through collaboration between the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Transportation, and ID FOOD as the BUMN food supplier for Oilita, as well as support from PT Bina Karya Prima (BKP) as the producer of cooking oil.

"I also want to thank PT BKP for supporting and responding to the government's policy to produce and distribute the people's packaged cooking oil of the Oilita brand, with excellent packaging and quality of cooking oil," he added.

Zulhas as Zulkifli Hasan is familiarly called, hopes that all parties can work together in maximizing the acceleration of the distribution of Oilita. So that cooking oil can be accessed by all Indonesian people at a price according to the highest retail price (HET).

"And it can achieve the main goal, namely the availability and lowering of prices for basic goods in all regions of Indonesia," said Zulhas.
