Police Have Not Clearly Opened The Case Of Brigadier J In Accordance With Jokowi's Orders, The DPR Considers There Are 2 Strong Reasons
JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Police has not yet publicly disclosed the motive for the premeditated murder case against Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J, who is suspected of being masterminded by the former Head of the National Police Propam Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.
In fact, President Joko Widodo has twice reminded the National Police to open the shooting case at Ferdy Sambo's halfway house transparently, don't cover it up and reveal the truth as it is.
Responding to the sluggishness of the Police, member of Commission III of the DPR Arsul Sani assessed that there were two reasons why the police had not conveyed the motive.
“First, the motive has not been fully explored. Second, law enforcers usually have an investigative strategy,” said Arsul Sani, Thursday, August 11.
Later, there were rumors that Brigadier J was killed because he knew Ferdy Sambo's secret, related to illicit business and a mistress.
"I don't think we should develop any narrative related to motives in the public sphere," Arsul continued.
According to him, the announcement of the motive for Brigadier J's murder to the public should not be rushed so as not to interfere with the process of disclosing the case.
"If the motive has not been conveyed, then efforts to develop this case can be hampered," said Arsul.
Arsul said the National Police would need time to find out the real motive for the shooting. And usually, he said, the motive will be conveyed when the investigation process is over.
Therefore, he believes that the public must be patient in waiting for the handling of this case. "We leave it, we trust the investigators," he said.
