Granit Xhaka Admits He Can't Sleep When Arsenal Lose, His Beautiful Wife Justifies
JAKARTA - Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka revealed the fact that when the Gunners lost he could not sleep well. The confession was confirmed by his wife, Leonita.
Xhaka is one of the players in the Premier League who is often criticized, half of his team's supporters show the same. However, the sneer was nothing compared to the feeling when he accepted defeat. As he reveals in the club's documentary, All or Nothing Amazon.
Ahead of the show's release, the 29-year-old midfielder was candid about how he dealt with defeat. Xhaka also revealed what he would do to show fans how much he and the rest of Arsenal's players really care about the state of the team.
"That's our job, people don't see us on the training ground, they don't see how hard we work. They only saw us for 90 minutes," he was quoted as saying by the Daily Star, Thursday.
With the criticism leveled by fans at the players during the Gunners' defeat, Xhaka said that if he could he would take the fans to see firsthand how he and other players fought hard before being on the pitch.
“Everyone has a bad day, that's why I thought 'why can't we bring the fans once a week so they can see how we train.' It's not that we came here to waste time and we don't care about 90 minutes. We care more than people think," Xhaka continued.
Then Xhaka said when Arsenal lost in a match, this really affected him. He even had trouble sleeping because he felt sad too.
"Me and Aaron (Ramsdale) couldn't sleep when we (Arsenal) lost. No one can see that this makes me very disappointed and very sad because people say we don't get everything from the club. It's bullshit, you know.
"It's difficult in England to bring people to the training ground. In Germany it's different. In Germany you have two, three, four thousand people who come every day," Xhaka said.
Xhaka's wife, Leonita, later supported Xhaka's claims. This beautiful woman revealed her husband was angry when Arsenal lost and the situation left him unable to sleep all night after the defeat.
