Fires PPSU Persecution Of Girlfriend, Anies: There Is No Room For Violence In The DKI Provincial Government Work Environment

JAKARTA - An officer for handling public infrastructure and facilities (PPSU) named Zulpikar was fired by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for molesting his girlfriend.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said Zulpikar's dismissal was carried out on the day the incident went viral on social media. Anies emphasized that he did not give space for perpetrators of violence to work in the agency he leads.

"There is no room for violence and harassment in the entire working environment of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and the punishment is immediate dismissal and handed over to the authorities," Anies said on the aniesbaswedan Instagram account, Wednesday, August 10.

Anies revealed that his staff also immediately reported this case of abuse to the police for legal processing. Meanwhile, the victim has been given health, psychological, and legal assistance.

The former Minister of Education and Culture thanked him for his concern by uploading a video of the persecution so that it went viral on social media.

"If you see an act of violence, try to prevent it together. But if you are worried about safety or it will worsen the situation, then please take a photo/record and report it to the authorities or call Jakarta Alert 112," said Anies.

For information, a video has gone viral on social media showing Zulpikar's mistreatment of women. The persecution took place on Jalan Kemang Dalam VI, Bangka Village, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta on the afternoon of Monday, August 8th.

Judging from the video, Zulpikar appears to be kicking, grabbing, hitting the woman. In fact, Zulpikar also ran over the woman using his motorcycle.

Based on the information from the Bangka Village Head, the woman is Zulpikar's lover. The cause of the abuse occurred because Zulpikar felt jealous of the woman.
