There Is A Chance For Michelle Yeoh To Join In Shang-Chi And The Legends Of The Ten Rings

JAKARTA - Marvel Studio will add a new star in the film Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings. Rumors blew, the name Michelle Yeoh surfaced.

The fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will include the franchise's first feature film to feature Asian heroes in the lead roles, Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings. Comicbook.com reports that Michelle Yeoh is in talks to join the other cast in the film.

Michelle Yeoh previously played Aleta Ogord / Starhawk in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. However, the media noted that Michelle Yeoh's potential role in Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings would be a separate character.

If Michelle Yeoh takes part in this film, she will join a group of actors who play two separate characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the stars of The Eternals, Gemma Chan and Alfre Woodard (Luke Cage).

In addition to his role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Michelle Yeoh's credits include Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Tomorrow Never Dies, Crazy Rich Asian, and Star Trek: Discovery.

Introduced in a special issue of Marvel # 15 in December 1973, Shang-Chi is a skilled martial artist who grew up in a remote complex located in China. He was trained by his father Fu Manchu, a Chinese evil expert and immortal magician who repeatedly tried to conquer the world.

When Shang-Chi is finally allowed to venture into the outside world, she learns of her father's evil ways. He then faked his death before embarking on a mission to overthrow the criminal empire of Fu Manchu.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a script written by David Callaham, Shang-Chi and of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, and Tony Leung.

The film will be released in theaters on February 12, 2021.
