Madrid Opens The New 2022/2023 Season Through The Duel Against Eintracht Frankfurt In The European Super Cup
JAKARTA - Real Madrid will start the 2022/2023 season by playing official matches, but not in the Spanish La Liga domestic competition.
Carlo Ancelotti's side will play against Eintracht Frankfurt in the European Super Cup.
Quoted from Diario AS, Los Blancos head to Finland for the annual European season-opening event with Champions League winners status.
Carlo Ancelotti's side will face Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, August 11 at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium.
This match will be a new challenge for Los Blancos, because of the various matches played in the past pre-season the results were less than satisfactory.
Ancelotti's men bagged just one win in three games during their tour of the United States.
However, despite these results, the official competition in the new season must still be greeted with enthusiasm by Los Blancos before finally appearing in domestic La Liga matches.
The same source said Real Madrid's squad had already traveled and would arrive in Finland on 9 August.
They will stay at the Hilton Helsinki Strand hotel to then train at a neutral venue the night before the match. This is in keeping with UEFA regulations, as they embark on a long road to six potential trophies in 2022/23.
