Contract Expires With Starship, IM Doesn't Leave MONSTA X
JAKARTA - The Starship Entertainment agency released an official statement regarding MONSTA X's contract. They stated that IM was the only member who did not continue the contract.
"Recently, Starship Entertainment renewed the contracts with six of our artists, MONSTA X members, Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, and Jooheon," the agency said today, Monday, August 8 citing social media.
Shownu who is currently serving in the military is continuing their contract with Starship.
"As the six members have a sense of loyalty to MONSTA X and MONBEBE, we agree for IM to continue to participate in group activities," he continued.

Furthermore, the agency appreciates the cooperation with IM to date. Discussions regarding the contract have been discussed but IM chose not to continue the contract with the agency.
“We are grateful for IM's hard work, efforts over the years. We will support IM for its new steps," he said.
On the other hand, the agency announced that MONSTA X ended their break and is now preparing to greet fans with new promotional activities.
MONSTA X debuted with Starship in May 2015. They are actively releasing albums, the latest of which is SHAPE of LOVE earlier this year.
IM is one of the rappers in MONSTA X. Since his debut, this man whose real name is Im Changkyun has written songs for several artists.
In 2021, he made his solo debut with Duality and narrated several audiobooks.
