Seventh Day Of Registration Of Candidates For Election Contesting Political Parties In 2024, KPU: Not Yet Entered The Document Assessment Stage

JAKARTA - The registration stage for Political Parties (parties) as Candidates for the 2024 General Election has entered its seventh day. Political parties attending must submit registration documents, registration letters and other required documents.

KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari said that the stipulation for the registration of political parties is to submit a complete registration letter and required documents.

“Only one category is complete or incomplete. So now we have not reached an assessment whether the documents are correct or valid, but only at the complete or incomplete level,” explained Hasyim, in a written statement, Sunday, August 7.

Hasyim said, if a complete document is declared, the KPU will issue an official report stating that the complete document and the political party are registered and will then enter the administrative verification stage.

On the other hand, Hasyim continued, if it is not complete, it is still given the opportunity until Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 23.59 WIB.

"If the specified date, date and time limit have not been fulfilled, the official report issued is an incomplete document and is declared not registered," he said.

Meanwhile, KPU member Mochammad Afifuddin said on the seventh day the Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora) was present to register as a political party participating in the 2024 election.

"The Gelora Party is the 14th party to register, we hope that we will carry out the process of this election stage in a pleasantly happy situation without violating the rules," said Afif.

Afif continued, the KPU will ensure that the entire registration process for all political parties is carried out in an equal, happy and undifferentiated position, starting from the first day of August 1 to the last day of August 14, 2022.

Furthermore, Afif said there are 17 political parties out of 41 political parties that already have SIPOL accounts and have not been present to register with the KPU. For political parties that have not been present to register, Afif ensured that the KPU will provide the same treatment as political parties that have registered before.

“We also looked at IT records, the progress of SIPOL inputs made by each political party. For political parties that are trying hard to input data, if there is something you want to ask or improve, the Helpdesk Team will be very open to helping political party friends," Afif explained.

Afit emphasized that the KPU is very open in serving all political parties with the hope that the registration process until August 14, 2022 will run smoothly and without any problems.
