Ministry Of Religion Establishes 'We Love Papua' Religious Laboratory

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion has established a religious laboratory at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Insan Cendekia (IC) Sorong as part of strengthening the We Love Papua (KCP) program.

"Education in madrassas is not only a transformation of knowledge but there must be a process of value transformation," said Director General of Islamic Education Muhammad Ali Ramdhani after inaugurating a religious laboratory in Sorong recently, according to a written statement received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, November 16.

The KCP program was launched by the Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi on September 3 in Jayapura, Papua. This program is an affirmation to encourage the acceleration of development in the field of religion and religious education in the easternmost region of Indonesia.

Specifically, the program aims at improving the quality of resources for indigenous Papuans (OAP), improving religious facilities and infrastructure, educational facilities and infrastructure, increasing morals and quality of faith.

The Minister of Religion said that the KCP program became a forum for building religious harmony in Indonesia by building Aceh-Papua solidarity links by promoting education and religious institutions including houses of worship.

The Director General of Islamic Education, Ali Ramdhani, said he was proud of the madrasa teachers in Papua who continue to struggle to educate despite all their limitations.

Even though he is in a limitation, Dhani advised the teachers to keep updating their knowledge in the present era.

The existence of teachers depends on the ability to continue learning with current developments.

"People who continue to learn will become owners of the future," he said.
