Doni Monardo Appreciates Anies Gives Sanction Of IDR 50 Million To Rizieq Shihab
JAKARTA - Chairperson of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Doni Monardo appreciates the move by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in imposing fine sanctions on FPI leader Rizieq Shihab for violating health protocols.
"I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to the Governor of DKI, Mr. Anies Baswedan, who has taken measured steps towards the violation of an activity held in Petamburan," Doni said in a press conference broadcast on YouTube BNPB Indonesia, Sunday, November 15.
The day after holding a wedding and the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, Rizieq was visited by the Jakarta Satpol PP at his residence. He was given a letter containing a fine of Rp. 50 million.
"This fine is the highest fine and if it is repeated, the fine will be doubled to Rp100 million," said Doni.
Doni also appreciated the DKI COVID-19 Task Force team for sanctioning the masses of Rizieq's followers who violated health protocols, especially those who did not use masks in the crowd in the Petamburan area.
"By imposing physical sanctions on 19 people and 17 people are subject to fines, so that the funds received by the Satpol PP of DKI amount to IDR 1.5 million," said Doni.
As is well known, a number of guests seemed to be crammed on the main stage and along Jalan KS Tubun, Petamburan without wearing masks and jostling after the marriage contract ceremony for Rizieq Shihab's daughter, Syarifah Najwa Shihab.

In the morning, the Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Arifin came to Rizieq Shihab's residence to impose sanctions for violating health protocols during the transitional PSBB period.
In the event of the Prophet's birthday and the wedding of his daughter last night, Rizieq allowed a violation of health protocol in the form of a crowd. In fact, some of the guests who attended did not wear masks.
"This visit is about enforcing the COVID-19 protocol. Yes, (Rizieq) will be sanctioned," said Arifin.
In the letter of imposing sanctions, Rizieq was proven to have violated DKI Governor Regulation Number 79 of 2020 concerning law enforcement as an effort to prevent COVID-19 and Pergub Number 80 of 2020 concerning the transitional PSBB.
"The sanctions are as regulated in the COVID-19 protocol, there are fines. The enforcement of the COVID-19 protocol applies to all, yes. There are no exceptions," said Arifin.
Arifin said that Rizieq had responded to the imposition of the sanctions and would pay the fine. "The response is good, accepting us to enforce disciplinary rules," he said.
