Rizieq Shihab Asks Abu Bakar Baasyir To Release Our Figures, DPR: That Is Against The Law!

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I DPR RI, Abdul Kadir Karding said the government would violate the law if it complied with the wishes of the Leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Muhammad Rizieq Shihab, namely the release of a number of figures from detention.

Requests for the release of a number of figures, namely Abu Bakar Baasyir, Bahar bin Smith, and several US figures such as Syahganda Nainggolan, Anton Permana, Bambang Nur Hidayat. This release is a condition for Rizieq to reconcile with the government.

"If in a legal process, for example a WE figure who is arrested wants to be released now, it is impossible because the government will violate the law. The government may not break the law so that it can talk with Habib Riziq," Karding said in a webinar held by the Political Journalist Forum (FJP), Sunday, November 15th.

Karding said that the requirement to release a number of figures was almost impossible because there were legal procedures that had to be followed. Except, when the sentence has been completed, then President Joko Widodo can grant clemency to clear it.

"If later after being sentenced, for example the President gives his prerogative, or grants clemency, or some other kind of policy, that is fine because it depends on the President's political views," Karding explained.

For information, through a broadcast by Front TV, Rizieq admits that he is ready to carry out reconciliation with the government. However, there are a number of conditions that must be met. One way is to free several police detainees.

"There are screams of reconciliation, how could reconciliation be held if the door to dialogue is not opened. Open the door to dialogue first, then reconciliation. There is no reconciliation without dialogue, important dialogue," Rizieq said as broadcast on the YouTube channel Front TV, Wednesday, September 11.

Through this reconciliation, Rizieq also admits that he is ready to provide the best solution for the problems of the state that are currently befalling the ummah, nation, and state as well as officials and society. He even said that the government just needs to prepare the time and place to start the dialogue to prepare for reconciliation, provided the government frees some prisoners.

"Free Ustaz Abu Bakar Baasyir who is currently old, then Bahar bin Smith, Doctor Syahganda Nainggolan, Anton Permana, Jumhur Hidayat. Free laborers, students, demonstrators, students who are still filling prisoners and show good intentions," he said.
