Named As Suspect In The Shooting Of Brigadier J, Komnas HAM: Not Sure Bharada E Is The Culprit

JAKARTA - Chairman of Komnas HAM Ahmad Taufan Damanik, said that Bharada Richard Eliezer or Bharada E could not be confirmed as a suspect in the shooting case of Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J. Because according to Taufan, the evidence obtained regarding Bharada E as the perpetrator in the shooting has not been fully confirmed. The reason, he said, at the time of the incident there were no witnesses who saw the shooting process.

"I said that Richard is not necessarily the culprit. So in the meantime he has been named a suspect for his confession," said Taufan to reporters, Saturday, August 6.

Taufan explained that another aide named Ricky, who was said to be at the location, did not clearly see Bharada E's whereabouts at the time of the shootout. Ricky, only heard the screams and did not see Bharada E.

"He heard Ricky screaming, he came out of his room downstairs and he saw J pointing a gun at the gunfight, but he didn't see Richard, Bharada E. He didn't see the person," said Taufan.

"It was only after the shootout that he saw 'oh it's Richard', 'what is it Richard?' Richard is silent like that," he continued.

Therefore, Taufan asserted, currently Komnas HAM is still collecting evidence related to the case. Because for the time being, he was rich, Bharada E became a suspect for his confession.

"Yes, that's his confession (Bharada E) but I said we can't as investigators conclude that. That now investigators make him a suspect but investigators will look for evidence if he finds other supporting evidence that is more certain, yes, bring it to court. "It is known that the special team (timsus) of the National Police immediately detained Bharada E alias Richard Eliezer after being named a suspect in the shooting case of Brigadier J alias Nopriansyah Yosua Hutabarat.

"Bharada E is in the Criminal Investigation Unit. After being determined (the suspect) will continue as a suspect and will be arrested and immediately detained," said the Director of General Crimes at the Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Andi Rian Djajadi during a press conference at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police, South Jakarta, Wednesday, 3. August.
