Expeditionary Package Contains 1.7 Kg Of Dried Cannabis Arriving At Home, Husband And Wife Immediately Arrested By The NTB Police
LAMPUNG - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police arrested a husband and wife couple for possessing 1.7 kilograms of suspected marijuana in a package sent from Lampung.
The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Artanto said his members arrested the two perpetrators with the initials PR (29) and ML (26) after receiving the package at his home in the Sikur area, East Lombok Regency.
"As soon as this package arrived at his house, the team immediately made an arrest," said Artanto in Mataram, NTB, quoted from Antara, Friday, August 5.
He explained that the package containing the dried marijuana came from the Lampung region through an expedition service in East Lombok Regency. However, the return address of the package wrapped in a cardboard box covered with chocolate was revealed to be fake.
"So, the package only includes the full address of the recipient. The sender's address, has been checked, is fake," he said.
From the examination of the husband and wife, it was revealed that the package containing the marijuana was sent by someone they knew.
"Indeed, the origin is from Lampung. This item is acknowledged by them as the fourth shipment. Previously it had been received and circulated, an average of two kilograms was sent once," he said.
Furthermore, from a house search, the police found evidence that confirmed the roles of the two perpetrators as dealers in Lombok, including bundles of clear plastic clips for wrapping packages ready for distribution, and electric scales.
To the police, RP as husband admitted that he had never ordered from a supplier from Lampung. Instead, they only accept packages sent directly from suppliers.
"So, from one kilogram, he deposited Rp. 10 million. The profit from one kilogram, they got Rp. 5 to Rp. 7 million," he said.
Related to this statement, Artanto assured that investigators are currently tracing the identity of the supplier from Lampung, either through digital traces from the mobile phones of the two perpetrators, and proof of transfers through bank account books.
From this case, the husband and wife have now been named as suspects.
As a result of his actions, the two perpetrators who are suspected of collaborating in running the marijuana distribution business are suspected of Article 111 Paragraph 2 and or Article 114 Paragraph 2 of Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics.
