JK Ready To Become A Mediator For Government Dialogue With The Papuan People

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) HM Jusuf Kalla (JK) said he was ready to become a mediator for dialogue between the government and the Papuan people in solving various problems in Papua.

"If I am asked to be a mediator for the dialogue, I am still ready," said Jusuf Kalla at the inauguration of the Papua DMI board, Saturday, as reported by Antara.

The former Vice President JK admitted that he is still waiting for a mediator request for dialogue between the government and the Papuan people.

Regarding the board of DMI Papua, according to JK, it must be able to be the glue for tolerance of religious harmony in Papua Province.

"Make the mosque prosperous with public activities because it is a place for building faith and piety," he said.

The board of DMI Papua for the 2020-2025 period is chaired by DR H. Mansur replacing the previous chairman, Prof. H. Hasan Basri Umar.

The working visit of the former Vice President who is currently the General Chair of the DMI and PMI in Papua and West Papua in order to inaugurate DMI officials and visit the Indonesian Red Cross.
