The Mayor Of Central Jakarta Surati Rizieq Shihab Asks Guests At Najwa Shihab's Wedding To Be Restricted
JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta City Government sent a letter to the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab regarding the implementation of the wedding ceremony for his daughter, Najwa Shihab. Through the letter, Central Jakarta Mayor Bayu Meghantara asked Rizieq to follow health protocols, including reducing the number of guests attending the event.
In a letter dated Friday, November 13, Bayu said the implementation of this health protocol was necessary because the transitional large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) were still in effect.
"In accordance with these conditions, you are asked to apply health protocols, both the committee and participants who attend the event with a maximum of 30 people in one room," the letter said as quoted by VOI, Saturday, November 14.
In addition to limiting the number of guests, this FPI leader was also asked to provide facilities and infrastructure for the prevention of COVID-19 transmission, such as hand washing stations, hand sanitizers, and other necessary equipment.
The letter said, when the implementation of the event it was found that there was a violation of the health protocol, the officer would give sanctions.
It is known that the wedding ceremony was held at the same time as the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad by FPI. The plan of this event will start around 19.30 WIB.
Regarding the implementation of the health protocol at the event, the Chairperson of the Commemoration Committee of the Prophet's Birthday together with the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Haris Ubaidillah will try their best so that the people who attend the event can apply health protocols to prevent transmission of COVID-19.
One way to do this is to set up a hand washing area and will ask the event guide to remind the public about health protocols.
"The committee will try their best. We have prepared things like washing and all kinds. Later, we will also remind all MCs to always remind residents," said Haris to reporters in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, Saturday, November 14.
In addition, the FPI Laskar will be deployed to maintain security with the police and manage traffic with members of the transportation service, as well as to maintain the implementation of health protocols during these activities.
The committee, he continued, had also made efforts to socialize 3M such as maintaining distance, wearing masks, and washing hands with the water provided or with a handsanitizer. "We even recommend bringing a spare mask and not shaking hands," he said.
However, he could not guarantee that all those present at the Prophet's birthday, which also coincided with the wedding ceremony for the daughter of the High Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab, would be orderly.
"The name of this community is beyond our ability. But we have an effort, the important thing is there is an effort. The rest we leave to Allah. Hopefully with the blessing of this maulid commemoration the corona epidemic can soon leave our beloved country," he said.
