This Was The Cause Of The Fire Quickly Spreading Until The Attorney General's Office Burned Down
JAKARTA - Fire forensic expert from the University of Indonesia Prof. Yulianto Nugroho said that the flammable aluminum composite panel (ACP) material made the flames burning the main building of the Attorney General's Office easily spread to other parts of the building.
"This is what causes a relatively high temperature at the bottom (of the building)," said Prof. Yulianto in a press conference at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Jakarta was quoted as saying by Antara, Friday, November 13.
Yulianto explained the test results of the ACP material from the burning building showed that the material produced hot material droplets when it burned.
The results of this test are in accordance with the facts that occurred during a fire, namely that many burned materials were found dripping down and triggering the burning of other objects.
"Lots of material dripped and also fell off," he explained while showing video footage recorded when a fire broke out in the main building of the Attorney General's Office.
Yulianto explained that the ACP material used should be a material equipped with a fire-fighting material so that it has a better ability to prevent fires.
In the case of the fire at the Main Office of the Attorney General's Office, until now the National Police investigators have named 11 suspects.
The five suspects are construction workers with the initials S, H, T, K, IS. Then the building foreman's initials UAM.
The suspect RS as the Director of PT APM which produces Top Cleaner liquid cleaners.
The suspect was NH as the Head of Sub Division of Sarpras and Commitment Making Officer of the Attorney General's Office.
Furthermore, the suspect MD was the executor of the procurement of the Top Cleaner cleaning equipment.
The IS suspect who is a former AGO Commitment Making Officer (PPK) has a role in appointing a planning consultant who is inexperienced and does not check the type of material used in the ACP.
Suspect J is a planning consultant who has no experience in carrying out ACP-related work.
In determining the suspect, the police stated that they did not find an element of intent.
The cause of the fire was because five masons had neglected to smoke in the Personnel Bureau Hall, 6th floor of the Main Office of the Attorney General's Office. At that time, they were repairing the room but while smoking even though there were flammable materials such as glue, thinner, paper, carpet and others.
Then the fire quickly spread, triggered by the remaining Top Cleaner cleaning fluid on each floor. The cleaning fluid turned out to contain diesel.
In addition, there is also an ACP material which is not fire resistant, which causes a bigger fire.
