TANJUNGPINANG - Mayor of Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, Rahma, accompanied by his attorney, Hendi Davitra, fulfilled the police summons. Rahma was examined as a witness regarding the alleged violation of the 2020 Pilkada.

Rahma arrived at the Tanjungpinang Police Station at around 18.30 WIB and was examined at around 21.10 WIB, Friday, November 13

"It should have been this afternoon, but the Mayor has activities in Batam City, so I can only come tonight," said Hendi Davitra, quoted by Antara.

Hendi said Rahma was asked as many as 40 questions by the investigating team. However, he did not elaborate on the material in the question being asked.

"In essence, we still follow legal procedures and continue to prioritize the principle of innocence," he added.

On Monday, November 9, Tanjungpinang City Bawaslu together with the police and prosecutors who are part of Sentragakumdu raised the case of the Tanjungpinang Mayor's alleged election violation from the investigation to the investigation stage after conducting the second discussion.

The investigation, which will last for two weeks, is handled by the Tanjungpinang Police Chief of Criminal Investigation.

Bawaslu determined that the activity of Mayor Rahma, which campaigned for one of the candidate pairs for the Governor and Deputy Governor of the Riau Islands Province while distributing masks allegedly belonging to the government, which had been donated by the Temasek Foundation to the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, was a finding of alleged election violations.
