Attorney General: I Emphasize, I Don't Need A Smart Prosecutor, But He Doesn't Have Integrity
JAKARTA - Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin said his party not only needed a smart prosecutor but also had high integrity.
"And for the umpteenth time I emphasize, I don't need smart prosecutors but they don't have integrity, I need prosecutors who are smart and have integrity," said Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin at the inauguration of a member of the Special Task Force for the Handling and Settlement of Special Crime Cases (Satgassus P3TPK) at The Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes is virtually quoted from Antara, Saturday, November 14.
The Attorney General explained that the formation of the P3TPK Satgassus is a concrete effort by the Prosecutor's Office in increasing the intensity of acceleration, accuracy of handling and settlement of corruption cases.
According to him, the criminal act of corruption is a common enemy that must be fought together down to its roots.
"I hope that the members of the P3TPK Satgassus who are the chosen ones will be able to answer all the challenges, demands and hopes of the community to win the war against corruption which is the common enemy of this nation," he said.
Burhanuddin added that the modus operandi of corruption is increasingly developing so that efforts to eradicate corruption are not an easy task.
"The dynamics of the change in the modus operandi of corruption, which tend to be more complex, even transforming into no longer just a white collar crime, but now it has developed into a corporate crime and a top hat crime and can cross the territorial boundaries of a country (transnational crime), "he said.
The Attorney General gave an example that the successful disclosure of the Jiwasraya corruption case is proof that the hard work of the Attorney General's Office in handling corruption crimes has met public expectations.
Efforts to optimize services in the field of Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office have also yielded results with the achievement of the title Free from Corruption (WBK) and Clean Serving Bureaucratic Areas (WBBM).
"For that, I hope that the newly appointed brothers will not only be able to maintain and improve their existing performance achievements, but also to be able to make new breakthroughs and innovations in carrying out their duties," he said.
This activity is a continuation of the orientation activity for prospective members of the 2020 P3TPK Satgassus which was held on Thursday, November 12.
The event was attended by the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes and his staff as well as 57 prospective members of the P3TPK Satgassus at the Junior Attorney General's Hall for Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Attorney General, the Deputy Attorney General, the Head of the Education and Training Agency and the Expert Staff of the Attorney General were present virtually.
