Gibran Promises Closing Of ASEAN Para Games Will Be More Lively
SOLO - Mayor of Surakarta and Chief Executive of INASPOC Gibran Rakabuming Raka promised the closing of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games (APG) will be more lively than the opening ceremony on Saturday (30/7).
"It's been done (the preparations), which is definitely more festive, yes," he said in Solo as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 3.
Gibran said that one of the things that will enliven the closing ceremony on Saturday (6/8) is a fireworks display that can be enjoyed by the public. In addition, the presence of artists will also be more than at the opening.
"There are more artists because there are fewer ceremonial events later," he said.
Gibran said the officials confirmed to be present at the closing ceremony were President Joko Widodo and a number of ministers from the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.
He ensured that residents who did not get tickets at the opening ceremony could get tickets at closing.
"So later on, those who can't watch the opening can watch the closing. People are different," he said.
Gibran said that the limited number of spectators at the opening and closing ceremonies of APG was not only due to following the health protocol rules but also because some of the spectator stands were used for the stage.
"Because the stands are used, the capacity will automatically decrease, the important thing is that we have provided invitations, we provide a link. Those who can't or can't just watch tickets on TV, because the number of tickets is limited," he said.
Meanwhile, INASPOC Secretary General Rima Ferdianto said that for entertainment, one of the artists who would attend was Bunga Citra Lestari.
Meanwhile, the number of spectators at the closing ceremony will be reduced from the time of the opening.
"Yesterday (at the opening) there were 4,500 spectators, it is likely to be reduced. For the general public, it is possible only 2,000 spectators. In total there are 10,000 spectators," he said.
