5 Foreigners In Bali Arrested By Police For Drug Cases
DENPASAR - The Denpasar Police, Bali, arrested 54 narcotics suspects from June to July 2022.
Of the 54 suspects, 5 of them are foreign nationals, namely from Italy, Saudi Arabia, USA, Jordan and England. However, during the press conference, only one US foreigner named Janson P. Clark (47) was featured in the case release.
"For the foreigners that we mentioned earlier, both foreigners from Britain, Italy, Saudia Arabia, the USA and Jordan, all of them have the status of tourists for their passports," said Denpasar Police Chief, Kombes Bambang Yugo Pamungkas, Wednesday, August 3.
"We don't show the others, because the evidence is small or small," he said.
According to the Police Chief, there were 45 cases that were opened from June 1 to July 31 in the Denpasar Police jurisdiction, Bali.
Meanwhile, the evidence that was secured from the dozens of suspects included 3,444.12 grams of marijuana, or 3.4 kg, 433.69 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 394 ecstasy pills or 179.01 grams and 5.77 grams of gorilla tobacco.
"For the role of the suspect, there are 18 couriers and dealers and 36 users. The modus operandi is storing, delivering, or attaching narcotics. The motive is part of a syndicate and (there are) economic factors and the source is still under investigation," continued Kombes Bambang.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 111 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
