Komnas HAM Reveals Evidence Of Brigadier J And Beloved's Last Communication Before Their Death
JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Ahmad Taufan Damanik, revealed that his party had met the lover of Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J, Vera Simanjuntak in Jambi.
From the meeting, Vera admitted that she had called Brigadier J before he died in a shootout with Bharada E at Inspector General Ferdy Sambo's official residence, as stated by the police.
However, Komnas HAM denied the family's statement regarding the time of communication between Brigadier J and Vera before the shooting incident.
Taufan said that based on the information he got, Vera and Brigadier J communicated by telephone at 16.31 WIB. He denied the statement from Brigadier J's family who said the time the call between the two occurred at 16:43 WIB.
"Two days we were there, we met Vera too, asked Vera. So if someone says Vera called Joshua not on the 8th, they don't have his data. On the 8th, at 16.31 WIB, not at 16.43 WIB. We have the evidence," he said. Taufan at the Komnas HAM Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 3.
Taufan also claimed that Komnas HAM first went to Vera for questioning.
"We came there first, before the lawyer. We came there first, we were there for two days, met Vera too, asked Vera," he said.
Therefore, Taufan asked those who denied and doubted Komnas HAM data to show evidence (barbuk).
"So I said I was invited if you said that it wasn't true. Come (to Komnas HAM), check where your data is? Don't make a lot of noise everywhere, show the barbuk, right," he said.
"That's why I invite you, if you say that it's not true, come and check where your data is," he continued.
However, Komnas HAM did not want to speculate and comment further regarding the shooting incident. "We don't want to make all sorts of speculations, later on it will become more blurred," he said.
