Parigi Moutong Regency Government, Central Sulawesi Prepares 6 Tank Cars To Help Clean Water For Flood Victims

PARIGI MOUTONG - The government of Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi has prepared six tank cars to meet the needs of clean water supply for the victims of the flash flood in Torue Village.

"Tank cars have been operating since a few days ago to help clean water needs of residents affected by floods," said Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Parigi Moutong Idran when met in Torue, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, August 3.

The six fleets deployed, three of which belonged to the Sulawesi River Region III (BWSS III) Ministry of PUPR, two units belonging to the Central Sulawesi BPBD, and one other unit belonging to the Parigi Moutong Public Works Service.

This is because residents still complain about the lack of clean water needs, so the need is considered urgent, the water sources in the affected villages cannot be used because they are damaged due to being hit by flash floods.

"The need for water is not only used for bathing, washing and cooking purposes, but also currently being used for cleaning people's houses submerged in mud, so the need is very urgent," said Idran.

In addition to the vehicles prepared by the local government, there are also a number of water supply vehicles belonging to volunteers who also distribute clean water in people's homes, evacuation posts and public kitchens.

He said that until the sixth day after the flash flood, the local government focused on cleaning people's houses and public facilities submerged in mud, assisted by humanitarian volunteers from a number of institutions, institutions and organizations.

"The cleaning involves all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the Parigi Moutong Regency Government, with mutual cooperation, it is targeted that the residents' houses will be clean in the next three days," said Idran.

Secretary of the Public Works Department of Public Housing and Land (PUPRP) Parigi Moutong Nyoman Adi said, in addition to deploying clean water transport vehicles, his party also deployed one mobile stool car unit to serve three evacuation post points.

This includes a tronton truck to assist the mobility of heavy equipment and other equipment needed in the response to the emergency response.

"We have also deployed heavy equipment for the restoration of the Torue river since the last few days," said Nyoman.
