Data On Disability Of Election Voters In KPU And Bangka Social Service Disadvantage Of 1000 People, Cross-Agency Coordination Is Encouraged
BANGKA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Bangka Regency has strengthened coordination across government agencies to establish accurate voter data in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).
Bangka KPU chairman M Hasan said the cross-institutions in question were the Population and Civil Registry Service (Disdukcapil), the Social Service (Dinsos), and the Correctional Institution (LP).
"Synchronizing voter data is very necessary because in the near future we will carry out activities in the stages of updating voter data," explained M Hasan in Sungailiat, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Wednesday, August 3.
He hopes for support from Disdukcapil and Dinsos to carry out the data validation process for candidates for voters with disabilities, immigrants, widows, voters who have died, including novice voters from student and student groups.
Based on data from the Bangka Bawaslu, it is known that there are differences in the temporary data of prospective voters with disabilities registered at the KPU as many as 482 people, while the Social Service data reached 1,554 people.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Social Service Office of Bangka Regency, Ahmad Suherman, said that his party would prepare the data needed to help update voter data for groups of people with disabilities.
"The number of people with disabilities that we recorded is based on data from community reports and recipients of direct cash assistance (BLT)," he said, according to Antara.
The head of the Disdukcapil of Bangka Regency, Rahmat Gunawan, explained that there was a discrepancy in the data on the population with disabilities because there were some families with disabilities who did not report to the relevant offices or were even reluctant to record their Identity Cards (KTP).
"We have started recording data for persons with disabilities for making ID cards, such as in Belinyu District with the assistance of the Social Service and similar activities will be continued in all other sub-districts," said Rahmat Gunawan.
