Upload A Photo With Aubameyang And Torres, The Rock Is Blasphemed By Netizens: It's Not Good To Associate Yourself With A Club That Doesn't Want To Pay Its Players
JAKARTA - Hollywood star and former wrestler Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has been criticized by netizens for posting photos with Barcelona players.
The Rock took the time to watch Barcelona live during their 2-0 win over New York Red Bull in the final game of pre-season in the United States at the Red Bull Arena on Sunday, July 31 last.
After the match he went into the tunnel to the dressing room to meet the Blaugrana players. There he took a selfie with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres.
"Nice to meet you, my brothers. There is energy from you and Barcelona fans," wrote The Rock while re-sharing the upload of the official Barcelona Twitter account which was followed by several fire emojis.
The post received an overwhelming response from his followers on the platform with the bird logo. A total of approximately 82 thousand fans have given likes.
Many fans have come to know that The Rock is a Barcelona fan. However, there are also followers who say The Rock should not take pictures with players from clubs who owe their players salaries.
"(The) Rock, it's not good for you to associate yourself with a club that doesn't want to pay its footballers," one fan wrote.
This comment clearly refers to the salary debt that Barcelona have for their midfielder Frenkie de Jong. Some reports say the Catalunya team has a debt of 16 million euros or the equivalent of 287.5 billion rupiah.
It is this debt that makes the former Ajax Amsterdam player reluctant to leave Camp Nou in the transfer market this summer. In fact, he has been linked with a move to English giants Manchester United.
