IDX Records DKI Pemprov's Shares In Beer Companies Rise Along With The Emergence Of The Alcoholic Beverage Bill

JAKARTA - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) noted that the share ownership portion of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in PT Delta Djakarta Tbk, the producer of Anker brand beer has increased. The additional share portion is in line with the emergence of the Alcoholic Beverages Bill.

Based on IDX disclosure, Delta Djakarta informed that initially PT Delta's shares were owned by the beer maker Dan Miguel Malaysia Pte. Ltd. Then, the remaining 26.25 percent of shares are owned by the DKI Provincial Government and 15 percent are owned by the public.

Based on changes in last month's data, the DKI Provincial Government has increased the ownership of 265,850,450 San Miguel shares or 32.08 percent of the company's total shares, so that the accumulated shares of DLTA owned by the DKI Provincial Government is 58.33 percent.

That way, the IDX recorded that the largest shareholder at the end of October was the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government with a share composition of 58.33. Then, San Miguel becomes 26.25 percent, and the public remains 15.41 percent.

However, this data was denied by the Secretary of the DKI Regional Owned Enterprise Development Agency (BP BUMD), Riyadi. Riyadi said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has never increased ownership of beer shares.

"It's not true. It's wrong. I don't know where it came from. What is clear, it's not true," Riyadi said when confirmed, Friday, November 13.

Riyadi said that it is impossible for the DKI Pemprov to buy the company's shares. This is because the DKI Jakarta Regional Budget has contracted and adjustments must be made for handling COVID-19.

"We can't possibly add money from where the APBD is contracted, how come we follow the development of the APBD discussion, right? Our APBD is going down, how is it possible to buy shares," said Riyadi.

In fact, Riyadi said, Anies plans to sell the remaining shares of the DKI Provincial Government to the beer company. "We want to sell the shares instead. It is impossible to add to the classification. Just go to IDX (BEI)," he concluded.
