Fixing Asabri, Erick Thohir Ensures The Future Of Retirees Is Safe

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir continues to make improvements to PT Asabri (Persero).

If likened to a human being, said Erick, at this age Asabri should be at a senior level in his expertise in managing pension funds to ensure the welfare of members.

This was conveyed by Erick while attending Asabri's 51st Anniversary and the inauguration of the main lobby of the Asabri Building at Asabri Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday, August 1.

"I would like to thank all the directors and commissioners of Asabri who have worked hard to make the transition and transformation in improving Asabri," said Erick.

According to Erick, Asabri has a very important task, and which is clearly not to be played with or toyed with.

"The resilience of security guarantees to the retirement of many parties who carry out important state tasks such as the TNI, Polri, Ministry of Defense, can depend on Asabri's performance today," he said.

Therefore, continued Erick, improving governance, strengthening the risk management function, as well as strong control from the supervisory board and directors of Asabri must always be carried out professionally and sustainably so as not to repeat mistakes and not harm the community, especially the TNI, Polri, Ministry of Defense, and other members of the public.

Furthermore, Erick also expressed his gratitude for the support of Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto.

"Since the beginning, the Minister of Defense has sat with us and the Attorney General's Office because the Asabri case must be resolved because the TNI and Polri are the very important foundations of the nation," he said.

The TNI and Polri also share a common vision with the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Defense in improving Asabri.

For this reason, Erick asked Asabri to consistently maintain the trust of members by implementing core values, and morals.

"Quality morals will also be seen clearly from the results of Asabri's performance and service improvement," he said.

Erick assessed that service improvement is not only visible from infrastructure such as the new main lobby, but also TNI soldiers, Polri, Ministry of Defense, and all members must be able to feel the improvement in welfare, as a result of improvements in Asabri's body.

"With this, I also inaugurate the main lobby of Asabri's head office. Hopefully, it can continue to maintain a strong dignity and reputation so that it can always support the welfare of its members forever and ever," he said.

"God willing, this improvement will not stop here, we will continue to synchronize with various parties so that it becomes a strength in the future how retired TNI and Polri should be a priority," added Erick.
