Vocational High School 54 Students' Hands Almost Break During A Brawl: Police Will Check All Students Crossing Central Jakarta's Senen Area
JAKARTA - In the aftermath of the brawls that often occur in the Senen area, Central Jakarta, the Senen Police will spread a number of members at points prone to brawls. Not only that, his party also increased patrols to prevent brawls.
"We are carrying out additional patrols to areas that are considered brawling. The fighting hours are from 15.00 to 16.00 WIB," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Senen Police, AKP Ganang Agung when confirmed, Monday, August 1.
AKP Ganang said his party would stop every student who brought a motorbike. This step is to conduct an examination of students.
"We will make sure that the members will check whether the students are carrying sharp weapons or not. Later they will be asked to go straight to their respective homes," he said.
AKP Ganang explained that the brawls between students that occur today are mostly done randomly. Groups of students usually gather together carrying machetes and go around looking for opponents.
"When they meet wherever they are, they immediately fight there. We also deploy officers in police uniforms," he said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Principal of SMKN 54, Nofiadli said that his students were victims of a brawl between students that occurred in Galur recently.
"Our students are victims but we will hand them over to the police for investigation. Currently our students are still being treated at the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital (RS)," he said.
Previously, it was reported that a brawl between school students occurred in front of the Yon Bekang dormitory, Jalan Letjend Suprapto, Bungur Village, Central Jakarta.
A student with the initials NR (17) suffered a laceration from a sharp weapon in his hand.
NR was hacked by a sharp weapon by the opposing group during a brawl. As a result, the victim's hand was almost severed.
The Senen Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Ganang Agung, said that his party had also arrested four students involved in the brawl.
"We have secured EH (16), OR (16), AA (16) and YD (16). All of the students are grade 2 high school students," said AKP Ganang when confirmed, Saturday, July 30.
AKP Ganang further stated that NR's stab wound was quite severe. Until now, members are still looking for the weapons used by the perpetrators in the brawl.
"We admit that the students did not slash the victim, but only hit the bag. But we are still investigating the case of this brawl," he said.
He continued, the students who were detained were students from the North Jakarta area. They deliberately came to the Central Jakarta area to look for opponents. They ride motorbikes looking for targets.
"They are still being investigated. According to their statement, one of the (perpetrators) slashed (the main executioner) at the victim. According to their statement, there was one person who stabbed (the victim)," he explained.
