JAKARTA – A middle-aged woman screamed hysterically after seeing her husband's body hanging in the room of her house in the Balimester area, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Monday, August 1.

Budi, the head of the local RT, said the witness, the victim's wife, saw the unpleasant sight after returning home to buy food at Mangga Dua, West Jakarta.

"His wife came to my house, in a state of crying. I was shocked too, I came out he said his husband hanged himself," said Budi to reporters, Monday afternoon, August 1.

The cause of death is suspected to be due to depression, so the victim was desperate to end his life in a tragic way. The victim is estimated to be 58 years old.

"I went to her house when I saw her husband hanging himself. Before the incident, his wife was told to buy rice ulam at Mangga Dua. When his wife came home, she saw her husband hang himself," explained Budi.

Budi also forwarded the report to the Police for further processing. Officers who arrived at the location immediately processed the crime scene and identified the body.

Meanwhile, according to the victim's brother-in-law named Pawi, his wife admitted that she had felt a strange premonition. The wife, continued Pawi, was asked by the victim to buy mixed rice in the Mangga Dua area.

"This is a harmonious family and both of them are rather quiet (rarely socialized). It is suspected that the burden he is thinking about, maybe his body condition is weak and has had COVID before, but he is still healthy," he said.

Pawi continued, the death of the victim was known directly by his wife.

"His wife met him after buying rice. The body was taken to the RSCM for a post-mortem," he said.
