Facebook Launches Vanish Mode Feature On Messenger

JAKARTA - Facebook has just announced a new feature, which at first glance looks like Snapchat. Nicknamed Vanish Mode or Vanish Mode which will appear in Facebook Messenger messages.

Quoting Slashgear, Friday November 13, in Vanish Mode, allows users of both Instagram and Messenger to send chat messages that can disappear after being read. Where the message can be text, emojis, images, GIFs, or voice messages from the chat room.

Although at first glance similar, this feature is not like Snapchat. Where Vanish Mode is not the default setting. The user has to activate it from within an existing chat by swiping up on the screen of the mobile device, but they can turn it off again.

Later, Facebook will first introduce this feature when users open Instagram or Messenger. Where it will show a screen will pop up explaining how Vanish Mode works.

Interestingly, users will be notified if someone takes a screenshot of the conversation, as Snapchat did. Facebook also embeds a blocking and reporting system for users who want to report conversations.

In addition to the launch of Vanish Mode, Instagram will also receive many additional Messenger-inspired features, such as the ability to change chat colors or react with any emoji.

For information, Vanish Mode has been launched starting today on the Messenger application in the US, Canada, Mexico, Peru and Bangladesh. As for Instagram, it will be coming soon in Canada, Argentina, Chile, Peru and several other countries.
