If On Schedule, Scorpions' New Album Arrives Late 2020

JAKARTA - The legendary rock band from Germany, Scorpions is preparing a new album. This was revealed by vocalist Klaus Meine when speaking on the Talking Pictures television show.

"We went to Australia in February, and Southeast Asia, and when we came back, we went to the studio here in Germany, in our hometown [Hannover], for the pre-production (of the new album)," Meine explained. from Blabbermouth, Tuesday, January 21.

"And then in May, it looks like we came to Los Angeles and started working in the studio, starting recording, through to residency in Vegas. And hopefully we're done by then. Otherwise, we go ahead and finish the album, which hopefully will come out later in the year . "

Last fall, guitarist Matthias Jabs revealed to New Zealand media, The Metal Bar, that they would be working with Metallica and Slipknot producer Greg Fidelman on his new album.

When released later, this album marks Meine et al's first release since Born to Touch Your Feelings - Best of Rock Ballads which has been released in three years. This album is an anthology that contains a combination of new and old Scorpions material.

Scorpions' last full-length album was Return To Forever (2015). This also marked the last appearance of drummer James Kottak, who was fired from the band in September 2016. Since then, he has been replaced by former Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee.

Earlier this month, Scorpions announced that they would take over the Las Vegas Strip at the end of the year with an exclusive residency show. Promoted by Live Nation and Caesars Entertainment, Scorpions "Sin City Nights" will kick off on Saturday, July 4 at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Meine et al will be joined by special guests Queensrche.

Scorpions previously played a Las Vegas mini-residency in May 2016, which consisted of five shows at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Support on that date also came from the band Queensrche.

As additional information, Scorpions is confirmed to be one of the two headliners in the fourth edition of JogjaROCKarta. Rajawali Indonesia promoters announced the planned arrival of Scorpions along with other rock legends, Whitesnake, which was originally scheduled to come last year.

Through the Instagram accounts @rajawaliindonesia and @jogjarockartafestival, the arrival of the two legendary rock bands was confirmed. JogjaROCKarta will be held again at the Kridosono Stadium in Yogyakarta on March 1.
