The Minister Of Communication And Information Reveals 3 Of 7 Blocked Sites Of Unknown Origin
JAKARTA - The Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate said there were three sites out of seven that were blocked by the government. In fact, they are trying to make communication.
"Of the seven PSEs, there are three PSEs which until now have not been found in any digital space," Johnny told reporters at the KPU RI office, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Central Jakarta, Monday, August 1.
Johnny did not specify the name of the site in full. However, the government continues to try to communicate with the embassy of the country where the site is suspected to be based.
"We'll find out later. But I say, there are still three that we are still communicating with the embassy," he said.
He ensured that the Ministry of Communication and Informatics would not remain silent. Communication will continue to be made to blocked sites so that they want to register.
"Kominfo does not stay silent, is not passive, but actively communicates. Including communicating with relevant ministries and institutions in the country," he said.
The Ministry of Communication and Informatics has blocked a number of sites and services since Saturday, July 29 yesterday because they did not register as PSE in Indonesia.
Those blocked are Yahoo Search, Paypal, to online gaming services Steam, Dota 2, Counter-Strike Global Offensive and digital distribution platform Origin. However, due to protests by netizens, the Ministry of Communication and Information has blocked a number of services. Including PayPal which is commonly used for transactions.
