Strong Wind Blows Waters Of Komodo National Park, BMKG Reminds Tourists To Be Alert
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of the West Komodo Manggarai Meteorological Station reminded the public to be aware of strong winds and waves in the waters south of Komodo National Park (TNK), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
"Beware of strong winds and waves in the waters south of KNP. The waves are in the low category, but accompanied by strong winds," said Head of the Komodo Meteorological Station, Sti Nenotek, in Labuan Bajo, quoted from Antara, Sunday, July 31.
He said the wind was blowing from the East-Southeast at a speed of 8 to 35 km/hour. While the waves are in the low category, namely 0.5 to 1.25 meters.
Therefore, he asked the tourism actors who will travel in the waters of Komodo National Park to be careful.
"Keep an eye out for strong winds," said Sti.
In addition to warnings to beware of strong winds in the waters, Sti also reminded the public to anticipate potential dry hydrometeorological disasters such as forest and land fires or forest and land fires during the dry season.
According to him, strong winds that still occur in parts of West Manggarai will cause fires to spread to other areas.
Therefore, farmers are asked not to clear land or open new land by burning to prevent forest and land fires.
