5.6 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Aceh Jaya, No Tsunami Potential

ACEH - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 rocked Aceh Jaya Regency, Aceh Province on Sunday, July 31 at around 10.03 WIB.

"This earthquake has no potential for a tsunami," said BMKG Meulaboh-Nagan Raya Station forecaster Angga Yudha when contacted, quoted from Antara.

He explained that the earthquake that occurred in the western Indonesian Ocean was at a depth of 56 kilometers or 44 kilometers southeast of Aceh Jaya Regency.

"This earthquake is located at 4.25 North Latitude and 95.70 East Longitude," said Angga Yudha.
