Jokowi 5 Times Asks Volunteers Don't Rush About 2024 Presidential Election
JAKARTA - The DPP Chairperson of the Democracy Volunteer Forum (Foreder) Aidil Fitri said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) five times reminded volunteers to "ojo milk" or not to rush about determining the names of presidential and vice presidential candidates.
This was conveyed by Jokowi in a meeting with a number of volunteer organizations at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Friday, July 29.
"Earlier, he gave the directive 'Ojo Milk Milk', don't be in a hurry to determine the presidential and vice presidential candidates. I heard it directly and said 'Ojo Milk Milk' five times," Aidil said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 29.
Aidil said the President's attitude was very clear that he wanted to focus and did not want to be disturbed by things that could lead to confusion.
"In my opinion, it is very clear that he wants to focus without being disturbed by things that can plunge him. That means he gave orders for one breath, one command in determining his attitude, but wait for the time he will announce it himself," said Aidil.
Previously, during the meeting, several volunteers invited the President to attend the People's Deliberation with the aim of gathering the names of the 2024 presidential and vice presidential candidates.
According to Aidil, President Jokowi will not attend the People's Deliberation. The President reminded the volunteers to focus on helping the government.
"Volunteers have always had different opinions and views. That is a natural thing in a democracy, but I think later we can have one command and one direction, all according to Jokowi's expectations," he said.
In addition to Foreder DPP, volunteer organizations that attended the meeting at the Bogor Presidential Palace, namely Projo, Pospera, Jokowi's Volunteer Labor Friends, Jokowi's National Secretariat, Pena 98, KIB, Jokowi's Ambassador, Jokowi's Kornas, Bara JP, Solmed, RPJB, Pos Raya, GK Center, Almisbat, and more.
