SULTENG - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) plans to provide condolences to victims who died due to flash floods in Torue Village, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi.

"The team from the Ministry of Social Affairs arrived in Palu on Saturday, July 30, 2022, they went to the flood site to conduct a survey to provide humanitarian assistance, as well as to ensure that the victim died, because they will provide compensation for their condolences," said Head of the Central Sulawesi Social Service, said Siti Hasbia when met in Torue Parigi. Moutong, Antara, Friday, 29 July.

He explained that the Ministry of Social Affairs had also prepared basic needs assistance from the Palu Nipotove Center and Makassar Social Center, but prior to distribution, a study and data collection were carried out regarding the urgent needs of the affected residents.

Compensation for condolences will refer to the decision letter (SK) on the determination of disaster emergency response issued by the Regent of Parigi Moutong.

"We have not received any information about the amount of compensation for the grief that will be given later," said Hasbia.

Currently, he said, the Social Affairs Office of Central Sulawesi has brought disaster preparedness cadet personnel (Tagana) to join the volunteers who were first at the disaster site to help the affected residents.

In addition, his party has also brought equipment and basic needs for flood victims in the form of ready-to-eat food and baby needs.

"In dealing with floods, we will also coordinate with the Social Service of Poso Regency, because their access to Parigi Moutong is relatively close so that the strength of Tagana and social personnel is stronger," said Hasbia.

He stated that the Social Affairs Office of Central Sulawesi also opened a public kitchen to serve the consumption of disaster victims, because at this time there were still few public kitchens. "We saw that only one public kitchen was established, therefore we took the initiative to add a public kitchen so that consumption service was faster," said Hasbia.
