Joe Biden's Rubber Mask Sells Hard In Japan
JAKARTA - Joe Biden's victory as President of the United States had an effect on mask sales in Japan.
Quoting JapanToday today, November 12, a mask company called Ogawa Studios made a big profit after selling a rubber mask with Joe Biden's face.
They sell the masks from mid-October towards the final week of candidacy. Many people are interested in buying these products.
"Biden's words during the dialogue were soothing, so we made him with a friendly expression," said Koki Takahashi, administration officer of Ogawa Studios.
Before Donald Trump took office four years ago, the same factory was buzzing with orders for the controversial presidential mask. It is known, Trump and Biden masks both sold more than 1000 pieces.
According to them, masks with the face of politicians are much more desirable than those of cartoon, film, or other characters.
"Compared to character products, politicians are more in the office for a long time, so their sales are much higher as their popularity grows," said Takahashi.
Currently, Trump and Biden masks can be purchased for 2,400 yen either in person or online.
