Attorney General Asks The Prosecutor's Office And Attorney General's Office To Improve Handling Of Corruption Cases
PADANG - Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin asked the entire high-ranking prosecutor's office (kejati) and state prosecutor's office (kejari) to improve their performance in dealing with corruption in the regions.
The Head of the Center for Legal Information (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, said the attorney general said this during a working visit in West Sumatra.
"The Attorney General has ordered all the Attorney General's Offices and the Attorney General's Office to improve their respective performances in dealing with corruption," Sumedana said in Padang as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 28.
Each Prosecutor's Office and Prosecutor's Office has a target number of cases handled in a year, with details of a minimum of three cases for the Prosecutor's Office and five cases for the Prosecutor's Office.
"This target will be used as a year-end evaluation material for the performance of the leaders of the Kejari and Kejati throughout Indonesia, so it must be taken into account," he added.
The projection, he continued, was set because the Attorney General saw an imbalance in the number of handling corruption cases in the regions compared to the center. In addition, the practice of corruption is still a scourge that is detrimental to the state.
"Therefore, prosecutors in the regions are asked to improve their performance. There must be performance and cases that are handled purely by the Attorney General's Office and the Attorney General's Office since the investigation stage," he explained.
All heads of the Attorney General's Office and the Attorney General's Office are also asked to improve their performance because evaluations will always be carried out at the end of each year. The Attorney General also asked his staff to ensure that bureaucratic reform is carried out in a sustainable manner in other fields.
"Bureaucratic reform is not only about performance, but also the success of other fields at the Prosecutor's Office and the Attorney General's Office in providing services," he said.
During the visit, Sanitiar Burhanuddin who was accompanied by the Head of the West Sumatra Attorney General's Office (Kajati) Yusron visited the offices of the Pariaman District Attorney, Padang District Attorney Office, and West Sumatra District Attorney's Office.
Responding to the attention of Sanitiar, Yusron said that his party will try to remind the performance of his staff while still paying attention to the sense of justice.
