Greenwich Entertainment Releases Documentary Trailer For The Murder Of Kim Jong-un's Brother, Assassins
JAKARTA - The trailer for the documentary Assassins was released on Wednesday, November 11 by Greenwich Entertainment. This documentary tells about the murder of the younger brother of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Nam in Malaysia.
In 2017, Kim Jong Nam, the younger brother of Kim Jong-un, was murdered in Malaysia. The two women who perpetrated the murders were arrested and investigated.
However, the suspicion that these two women didn't know what they were up to started to emerge. Through the trailer, footage from the airport shows a woman smothering Kim Jong Nam's face.
Both women were arrested for murder, but both claimed they were part of a prank show.
“I think it's common for Kim Jong-un to be a caricature but this film takes him more seriously. He's not just a nepotistic clown who gets lucky with power. "He has a strategically managed power and this assassination is an important part of that strategy," said Assassins director Ryan White quoted by Rolling Stone on today, November 12.
The documentary Assassins premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival where the film received positive reactions from critics and others.
"I've never made a life-or-death film before, so filming was fast and thorough."
“I also couldn't connect with the two women in making the film because they were in prison. I saw them every time in court, handcuffed and surrounded by guns, but this is the first time I have made a film about a person I never met. "
As a director, Ryan White feels that the investigation process of this case has many twists and other facts, so he hopes that viewers who can witness this case can see the case like the director.
The film Assassins will open in theaters from December 11 and on demand on January 15.
