The Chairman Of The East Java MUI Said That Ustaz Hanan Attaki Was Rejected By The Residents Of Jember And Situbondo
SURABAYA - Ustaz Hanan Attaki's lecture which received public rejection in several areas in East Java was responded to by the East Java Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
The chairman of the East Java MUI Fatwa Commission, KH Ma'ruf Khozin, stated that the refusal was not because Hanan Attaki was spreading heretical ideas but because he feared it would conflict with the existing da'wah order in the area.
"No, it's just a method. If it's possible in one province, it's not necessarily suitable in an area where there are thousands of Islamic boarding schools, it's not necessarily suitable," said Khozin at the Grahadi State building, Surabaya, Wednesday, July 27.
Khozin continued, the rejection that occurred in Jember and Situbondo did not mean that Hanan Attaki was refused lectures in all regions in East Java. Because, he said, in fact, in some areas in East Java, Hanan Attaki is still allowed to give lectures. He gave an example in Surabaya, where Hanan Attaki was allowed to hold his lectures.
"In some areas it is okay. In Surabaya it is accepted. It depends on the heterogeneity of the people," he said.
Khozin explained that in East Java there are several areas that are religious, have a high level of knowledge, have many Islamic boarding schools, and have dhikr experts.
So when there are preachers or preachers who have different cultures, it is feared that they will conflict with the existing order in the fatherrah, thus disturbing commodusivity.
"If all of a sudden there are preachers who have different cultures, different methods, for example slang da'wah. How is this slang preaching? Meanwhile in East Java, which is already religious, it is feared to damage the order. " he said.
