KPK Determines Ex-Member Of The DPR, Irgan Chairul Mahfiz, As A Corruption Suspect
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named a former member of the DPR from the PPP faction Irgan Chairul Mahfiz (ICM) as a new suspect in the development of a corruption case in the administration of the 2017 State Budget (DAK) and the 2018 State Budget for North Labuhanbatu Regency.
Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Lili Pintauli Siregar, said that the KPK was observing the developing facts so that there were allegations of corruption involving other parties.
"After finding sufficient preliminary evidence, the KPK conducted an investigation and raised the status of this case to the level of investigation on April 17, 2020, then named the ICM suspect as a member of the Indonesian Parliament for the 2014-2019 period," said Lili as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 11.
It is known that Irgan also served as Deputy Chair of Commission IX of the DPR from the PPP faction. Irgan is suspected of violating Article 12 Letter a or Article 12 Letter b or Article 11 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1st jo. Article 65 of the Criminal Code.
Lili said that the case was a development of the alleged bribery case related to the proposed regional financial balancing funds in the 2018 Revised State Budget Draft, which began with an arrest operation (OTT) on May 4, 2019 in Jakarta.
"In this activity of catching hands, the KPK secured Rp400 million. So far, six suspects have been named," said Lili.
Six suspects, namely former Member of Commission XI DPR RI Amin Santono, Eka Kamaluddin from the private sector / intermediaries, former Head of Section for Development of Funding for Housing and Settlements at the Directorate General of Financial Balance at the Ministry of Finance Yaya Purnomo.
Furthermore, private sector / contractor Ahmad Ghiast, members of the 2014-2019 DPR RI Sukiman, and Acting and Acting. Head of Arfak Mountains District Public Works Office, Natan Pasomba.
"The six of them have been convicted by the panel of judges at the Corruption Court," said Lili.
Apart from the six people, he said, the KPK has also named three other people as suspects, namely the Mayor of Tasikmalaya Budi Budiman (BBD), the Regent of North Labuhanbatu Khairuddin Syah Sitorus (KSS), and the private sector or PPP Deputy 2016-2019 Puji Suhartono (PJH ).
