Hoax Case That Dragged PHDI Chairman, NTB Cyber Investigator Presents Suspect And Evidence Today

MATARAM - West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Cyber Investigators have handed over a case that named the Chairperson of the Parisadha Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI) NTB Ida Made Santi Adnya as a suspect for spreading false news to the public prosecutor.

The Head of the Investigation Supervision Section (Wassidik) of the NTB Police Ditreskrimsus AKBP Darsono Setyo Adjie said the submission was a follow-up to the case file that had been declared complete (P-21) by the research prosecutor.

"So today, we are following up on P-21 by carrying out phase two, transferring suspects and evidence to the public prosecutor," Darsono said at a press conference in Mataram, Antara, Wednesday, July 27.

In this case, Made Santi became a suspect for allegedly spreading false news through personal social media uploads. The upload on February 20, 2021 is related to the sales promotion of the Bidari Hotel in Mataram City.

"Through his Facebook account, the suspect made an upload as if the hotel had just been auctioned off in 2021," he said.

However, from the results of the investigation, it was revealed that the hotel auction process took place in 2020. This was reinforced by the evidence of asset valuation documents that took place in 2020.

"So the suspect's upload is not in accordance with the facts, so it is included in the spread of false and misleading news that results in consumer losses in electronic transactions," said Darsono, who also serves as the Daily Executor (Plh) of the Head of the Cyber Sub-Section of the NTB Police Ditreskrimsus.

The criminal indication is in accordance with the alleged article in the determination of Made Santi as a suspect, namely Article 28 paragraph 1 Juncto Article 45A paragraph 1 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19/2016 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11/2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE). ).
