The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Adds Natural Gas Distribution In The New Capital City

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has added a natural gas distribution network of 4,762 households in Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan. Penajam Paser Utara is the new capital city of Indonesia replacing Jakarta.

Assistant II for the Economy and Development of the North Penajam Paser Regency Secretariat, Ahmad Usman, revealed that in 2020 Penajam Paser Utara received a quota of 4,762 household gas connections from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

The installation of new household gas networks in Penajam Paser Utara District includes Petung, Lawe-Lawe and Waru Villages, as well as in Giripurwa, Girimukti and Sidorejo Villages, Penajam District.

According to Ahmad Usman, the construction of a new gas connection infrastructure for new households will be carried out in March or April 2020.

The system for installing the household gas network, he said, is that one household gas connection that is installed will directly flow the gas without having to wait for all house connections to be installed.

"The information is that residents who receive household gas connections in 2020 will also be given a gas stove that has been adapted to the home gas network system," Ahmad said, Tuesday, January 21.

The process of building household gas network infrastructure, continued Ahmad Usman, is financed by the central government through the State Budget (APBN).

In addition, six small substations (system regulators / hospitals) will also be built in villages / sub-districts where the household gas network flows.

"Small substations for supporting household gas connections will be built in six villages / kelurahan, because the substation is still using the one in Nenang Village, which was built in 2018," said Ahmad Usman.

In 2018, the State Gas Company (PGN) has also built 4,260 household gas networks installed in Penajam, Mount Steleng, Nenang, Paret and Nipah-Nipah Rivers, Penajam District, Penajam Paser Utara Regency.

As many as 4,260 households in Penajam Paser Utara Regency can now enjoy natural gas services for their daily needs so they no longer need to spend on LPG gas savings.
