Search For Drowning Victims In Gambir BKB River, SAR Team Deploys Divers
JAKARTA - A young man named Muhammad Aldi (22) disappeared and drowned in the current of the West Flood Canal (BKB), Jeling Roxy Bridge, Cideng Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, July 27.
Based on the testimony of eyewitnesses to the incident, the victim was previously seen to have drowned and rose to the surface of the water. However, due to the heavy flow under the BKB River, the victim's body finally sank again and disappeared.
Then, residents reported to the Jakarta SAR office. After receiving the report, the Jakarta SAR Office officers sent a rescue team to the scene with complete water SAR equipment.
"We are doing an optimal search for the victim. Hopefully the victim can be found soon," said the Head of the Jakarta SAR Office as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in the operation, Fazzli to reporters, Wednesday, July 27.
Furthermore, Fazzli explained, his party will coordinate with the combined SAR elements in the field and divide the search area into 3 (three).
"The first SRU conducted a search using a Rubber Boat with a distance of 4 KM from the incident location. The second SRU conducted a visual search of the land route with a distance of 3 KM from the incident location," he said.
Furthermore, for the third SRU team, the search for victims was carried out with Aqua Eye and USD.
"Diving around the scene of the incident was also carried out with a radius of 10 meters," he explained.
In the search, a joint SAR team was deployed, namely the Jakarta SAR Office, Gambir Metro Police, DKI Jakarta BPBD, Cideng Village Firefighters and Koramil and other SAR volunteers.
