The Weeknd Creates An After Hours Haunted House At Universal Studios
JAKARTA - The Weeknd will present two specially built haunted houses at Universal Studios in Hollywood. This concept was inspired by the album he released in 2020, After Hours.
The vehicle was named The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare which took the concept from the album and several horror and science fiction films.
This desire has been The Weeknd's dream for a long time, moreover he admits that his music is often synonymous with Halloween.
“I've always wanted my Halloween horror house. Halloween has always been significant with my music so it's a dream come true," said The Weeknd, according to Entertainment Weekly.
“I feel like my music video is the foothold for a collaboration like this. And I can't wait for people to enjoy this experience," said The Weeknd.
Charles Gray as Universal said that this haunted house is what people imagine when they think about how The Weeknd made this album.
"What would it be like if we were in (The Weeknd's) head when he made the album?" asked Charles Gray.
"This isn't a retelling of the After Hours album, it's entering into the nightmare that inspired him and his songs," he said.
This ride consists of three parts, namely the club, hotel, and station. These three places are known to be shooting locations for The Weeknd's music video.
In addition, fans will enter the ride with background music from The Weeknd's songs, including After Hours, In Your Eyes, and the biggest selling song on Billboard - Blinding Lights.
The Weeknd's After Hours haunted house ride can be seen at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 8.
