Chance Of Batistuta's Return To Fiorentina And Ala Prandelli's New Formation
JAKARTA - Cesare Prandelli may not be the only one returning to Fiorentina. The new La Viola coach admits that Gabriel Batistuta may also be on his way back to Firenze.
Prandelli officially became head coach of La Viola on Tuesday to replace Giuseppe Iachini who was sacked the day before. He admitted that the former Argentine national team striker could return to Firenze.
"I will talk to Batistuta later, he can be an added value, the possibility of being coached by a former striker like him will encourage our players," said Prandelli quoted from Italian Football, Wednesday.
"At the moment it's not possible, but we can discuss (his return) in the future."
"I will never leave Firenze," he continued.
"I'm back to continue with something. Ownership wants to make a great and competitive team at the national and international level. I know I'll never be alone. "
"The love I feel for this team is deep, I have no conditions, I hope to repay all of this. I have the responsibility as a coach and as a fan. I will often talk to the players as if I were a true fan , I immediately told the director that this team has a good machine, we need to understand how to make it work. "
Prandelli looks set to change the 3-5-2 formation that Beppe Iachini applied to a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. Gaetano Castrovilli will be given a further role in the future.
The coach is likely to change La Viola's tactics soon in an effort to make the team attack more effectively and protect the defense.
Prandelli recently spoke on television as an expert on La Viola and warned "Sofyan Amrabat is not a playmaker, I coached Christian Kouame at Genoa and he is not a center forward."
La Gazzetta dello Sport, Goal.com and others advised Prandelli to use a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation, pushing Castrovilli into a more advanced role behind the striker.
Franck Ribery and Jose Callejon will complement the trident of supporters of Dusan Vlahovic or Patrick Cutrone.
Amrabat could instead be paired with Erick Pulgar in midfield, while Pol Lirola and Cristiano Biraghi are inevitably full-backs.
