Opening Voice Of The Alleged Cooking Oil Cartel, Producer Of Bimoli Owned By Conglomerate Anthony Salim Says He Has Not Received KPPU's Written Decision
JAKARTA - PT Salim Ivomas Pratama Tbk has finally opened its voice regarding the alleged cooking oil cartel reported by the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU). The producer of the Bimoli brand of cooking oil admitted that he had not received any notification or written decision from the KPPU.
The statement was delivered by Corporate Secretary Salim Ivomas Yati Salim in an information disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Tuesday, July 26.
Through her letter, Yati explained, the news did not have a significant impact on the legal aspects of the company. In fact, he said, there was also no significant impact on the company's business and operational aspects.
"All of the company's business activities are running normally," he said.
In addition, according to Yati, there is no information, facts or other important events that are material and may affect the continuity of the company's business and SIMP's share price that has not been disclosed to the public.
Even so, Salim Ivomas, owned by conglomerate Anthony Salim, will always comply with the applicable laws and regulations.
As is known, KPPU will conduct a trial against 27 companies that have been reported in the cooking oil case. Among them are companies under the auspices of conglomerates such as PT Musim Mas, PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia to PT Salim Ivomas Pratama Tbk.
This is based on the results of an investigation conducted by the KPPU. Currently, the status of law enforcement in this case has also been raised from the investigation stage to the filing stage.
"Thus, the case can be continued to the next stage, namely the Preliminary Examination Council Session," said KPPU's Director of Investigation Gopprera Panggabean, quoted Thursday, July 21.
KPPU noted that there were 27 reported cases in this case. They are suspected of violating two articles in Law 5/1999, namely Article 5 concerning price fixing and Article 19 letter c concerning restrictions on the circulation or sale of goods/services.
