MUI Anniversary, Vice President Expresses Appreciation

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said the age of 47 is a mature age for the current Indonesian Ulema Council to be able to improve its performance even better.

"The age of 47 is a mature age. According to the Qur'an, a mature age begins at the age of 40," said the Vice President in his remarks at the 47th Anniversary of the Indonesian Ulema Council in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 26.

The vice president said that at the age of 47, MUI deserves to give thanks to Allah SWT.

Ma'ruf Amin hopes that MUI can do more good and good deeds.

"It means increasing performance after 47 years. It means commemorating 47 years of MUI's age," explained the Vice President.

Ma'ruf who is also the Chairman of the MUI Advisory Council hopes that the future performance of this organization will further improve its vision, both as a partner of the government and as a servant of the people.

According to the Vice President, as a partner of the government, MUI has done a lot and the government has also given a lot of appreciation, including in dealing with COVID-19.

"MUI with its fatwas, both concerning vaccination and the implementation of worship, until there is a fatwa to allow not Friday prayers (Friday prayers at the mosque) in order to protect the people. These are all things that have an impact, even though until now the pandemic has not disappeared," said the Vice President. .
