Waskita Beton Corruption, Attorney General Estimated State Loss Of IDR 2.5 Trillion
JAKARTA - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin stated that the state's loss in the case of alleged corruption, irregularities and/or misappropriation in the use of funds at PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk amounted to Rp 2.5 trillion.
"This act caused a state financial loss of IDR 2.5 trillion, and this will continue to grow, just wait for it to develop," said the Attorney General at a virtual press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 26.
In this case, the Attorney General's Office named four people as suspects. The four suspects are Agus Wantoro, the former Marketing Director of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk (2016-2020) who has retired, Agus Prihatmono as Marketing General Manager of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk for the 2016-August 2020 period.
Furthermore, Benny Prastowo as Marketing Manager (expert) of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk and Anugrianto as retired employee of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk.
According to the Attorney General, the suspect committed an unlawful act or abused his authority by carrying out a fictitious procurement, the procurement of goods was not utilized or the procurement could not be followed up.
"It means stalled," he said.
He said, to cover up the stalled act, PT Waskita Beton Precast carried out fictitious procurement by borrowing the flags of several companies, the first by making a letter of ordering fictitious materials, the second by borrowing the flag of a vendor or supplier.
"Then make a receipt for fictitious materials, then also make a travel document for fictitious goods," said the Attorney General, as reported by Antara.
The suspects were charged with Article 2 Paragraph (1), Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
Head of the Attorney General's Center for Legal Information, Ketut Sumedana, said the suspects were immediately detained for the next 20 days to speed up the investigation process.
The suspects, Agus Wantoro and Benny Prastowo, are being held at the Salemba Rutan at the AGO Branch, while Agus Prihatmono and Anugriatno are being held at the Class 1 Rutan, Central Jakarta, Salemba.
